Model of the Month August 2014: Viola Verity

Model of the Month: Viola Verity

Name: Viola Verity
Age: 25
Location:Western Massachusetts

Q. How did you get into modeling?
A. I was asked to shoot by a newer photographer who liked my look. I was absolutely awful at the beginning but stuck with it lol.
Q. Who was your role model as a child and how did that help in being a model?
A. As a child, one of my role models was Liv Tyler. Although she is absolutely gorgeous, she has frequently been criticized for not fitting the Hollywood "norm." But she has refused to change herself. I still have a lot of self confidence issues, but she has helped to teach me to accept myself even though I may not be the beauty "norm."

Q. Other than looking sexy in front of the camera, what else do you enjoy doing?
A. Outside of modeling, I enjoy exploring and being outdoors. I also love to read and to be creative and make things (like props for shoots).
Q. If you were not a model, what other profession would you have been doing instead?
A. I actually model as a side hobby. I work full time in animal welfare. I absolutely love animals and although the job is grueling, I love making a difference!

Q. How old were you when you found an interest in modeling and what made you want to start?
A. I started modeling when I was 23. I've also considered becoming a plus size model but never had the confidence to take the next step. It took a photographer asking me to be his model for it to really start.
Q. Where is your favorite place to shop?
A. I have a lot of favorite places to shop! I love forever 21 but I also love Asos (it's an online retailer) for amazing fashion odds and ends.
Q. Where was your favorite shoot so far?
A. It's tough to say where my favorite shoot has been, but I enjoy shoots at abandoned places the most! It's always exciting to explore while shooting! Q. What you like to accomplish as a model?
A. I started modeling to help with my self confidence and to help all girls realize that they are beautiful. If I help a few girls realize their potential, then I have achieved what I set out to do
Q. What advice would you give to a young girl who wants to pursue a modeling career
?
A. My advice to girls that want to pursue modeling is to go for it! Society tells women that they are never beautiful enough but the reality is that we are all beautiful! You would be surprised how many other people feel that you are too. Yes, there will be haters, but there will be many more who support you.
